Slingshot Global Team Rider Mark Doyle and his thoughts on the new REV kite.
Slingshot HQ, Stevenson, WA, USA - Aug 16, 2007
Mark Doyle has recently come back to the USA from abroad in Brazil where he has been busy teaching successful advanced kiteboarding clinics and setting up the foundation for his lesson clinics in the US. The start of Mark's US adventure was in the Gorge spending time with his family and of course getting some high wind riding time on the river!
It is here that Mark was introduced to the REV kite. Mark has been riding freestyle on Fuels for as long as he can remember. He chooses to teach on Turbos due to the forgiving qualities of the kite but always returned to the Fuel for personal use. The characteristics of the Fuel that he demands as a freestyle rider are aggressive pull, quick turning speed, responsiveness, intuitiveness and overall power. He had heard about the REV but wasn't really sure what sort of experience he was in for when Tony Logosz put the kite in his hands and said "take it for a spin; let me know what you think".
Mark put the REV to the test unleashing his full arsenal of tricks and powered moves without a hitch! Mark was, to say the least, blown away and very pleased with the performance of the REV.
His biggest comments were that the kite was very stable, predictable, quick, responsive, had a comfortable sweet spot in the wind window, light bar pressure and reluanched very easily. He was impressed that he could do all of the same tricks on the REV that he could on the Fuel. The one bonus that he mentioned was that the REV was more forgiving and had a wider wind range than his Fuels which made kiting more fun!

Mark will be teaching his advanced clinics in the San Francisco Bay area and then down in South Padre Island Texas for the year. For more information on "Riding with Professional kiteboarder Mark Doyle" check out his My Space at www.myspace.com/doylekite.
